Free On Line crime and fraud prevention training

FREE online crime and fraud prevention training as part of Celebration of Older Peoples Week



The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Humberside Police are teaming up with Neighbourhood Network to offer FREE on-line training as part the virtual “Celebration of Older Peoples Week” between 28th September and 2nd October.
 
We are offering the following sessions:
10am till 11.30am on Monday 28th September - A brief Introduction to Fraud Prevention
Detective Sergeant Ben Robinson will join Neighbourhood Network in presenting a introduction to scam prevention. This will improve your knowledge of fraud and help you take steps to prevent yourself from becoming a victim.
 
10am till 11.30am on Tuesday 29th September - A brief Introduction to Crime Prevention
I’ll join Neighbourhood Network in presenting this training that looks at acquisitive crime from the perspective of an offender. This will help you make your home and property more secure with simple and practical crime prevention advice.
 
These two events are part of the Older Peoples Partnership Hull and East Riding charities programme of interactive activities. In addition to the training above activities includes taster dance and yoga sessions, poetry reminiscence events, other training sessions, drama and crafting activities, virtual rock pooling and more.
 
In addition to the interactive activities the charity have organised:
Pre-recorded entertainment. This will range entertainment from local choirs and brass bands, drama, dance and interesting local news features.
Virtual Market Place. This will provide a platform for local organisation who support older people to promote their services.  
Hull and East Riding 55+ Showcase. People who are aged 55+ are being asked to share videos that showcase their talents such as Dance, Comedy, Poetry, Musical, flower arranging, magician, how to play a ukulele, singing, wood work, model plane building, maintaining a cycle with the charity. Anyone older person who has a skill, talent or interest they want to showcase should email their videos to celebration@olderpeoplespartnership.org.uk via mailbigfile.com by Friday 25th September. The entertainment, market place and showcase videos will be shared across the charities Facebook and Twitter accounts throughout the week.
