Welcome to Swanland Parish Council

Swanland Parish Council serves approximately 4000 inhabitants of the village of Swanland in East Yorkshire.

This website aims to allow the Council to communicate more effectively with residents and to provide ways to allow them to contact both the Parish Council and the East Riding of Yorkshire County Council. It will be kept fully updated with items of local concern including access to current planning applications and how you can make your views known. Parish Council News items are posted on the Council News web page. See also the Swanland Village Website  which contains a vast amount of local information


The Parish Council works closely with many local organisations including the Swanland Village Association (SVA).

A planning application has been submitted for the erection of a single wind turbine at Westwinds, Occupation Lane. Further details can be found on the ERYC website using planning number 21/03496/STPLF. The height to the tip of the blades will be 99.5m and hub will be 69m high. SWANLAND - GLADMAN CHALLENGE CONCLUDED

Here is an update from the ERYC Head of Planning, Mr Hunt ‘The Council (claimant), Secretary of State (first defendant) and Gladman (second defendant) all gave their submissions in front of the Honourable Mr Justice Dove yesterday. The Hearing concluded yesterday, earlier than expected (it was listed for 1.5 days). The Judge did not provide his ruling yesterday.
